So this my version of Barugon from the Gamera series. In the original he was a mythical end-bringer from New Guinea, he ultimately lost to the combine forces of the JSDF and Gamera, being drowned.
I have set aside my own version of Barugon, sort of like a modernized version:
After Barugon's death, a division of the JFDS decided to record and study the monsters, hauling the carcass away to a location shrouded in secrecy for experimentation. They soon began to subject the corpse to several scientific queries, and began to learn of his origin and powers.
After studying the creature, they found the source of his power: the ability to manipulate and control the temperature within its own body. Barugon's body acts as an oven, heating and cooling the chemicals within. Barugon's long tongue acts as a cooling station, chemically lowering it's tempurature to below freezing. As water vapor travels through the tube, the sub-zero mist is created. Barugon's rainbow beam was found to be the product of manipulating water particles in the air to relfect and intesify his own body heat through his dorsal horns, creating a destructive ray. Barugon's only weakness was ironically found to be water. Water of a different temperature can create distortions in the creature's body, rendering it sloth-like and imobilized. Water must be a different temperature than it's own.
Barugon was found to be hundreds of millions of years old, preexisting the dinosaurs. Ancient inscriptions found in several Locations in New Guinea state that he was a form of punishment for the wicked, a weapon sent by the Gods to chastise the wicked ways of man. After many millenia, the human tribe of New Guinea kept the ancient beast satisfied and secret. Only the intervention of Others caused the beast to appear once more.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
