This is a concept of a volcano/magma monster. It's done with alkyds on scrap wood. :) It took me a couple weeks to do, that's why there haven't been any posts in a while. I'm not set on it's name or anything, and i'm open to ideas. I came up with a bio and concept:

Height: roughly 140 meters at the top crest
Weight: 100,000 tons
Powers:
The monster's body acts almost as living magma, and is able to change shape and size. By allowing magma to harden, the creature can create stone-like armor protrusions. Because of it’s nearly amorphous nature, the monster can create any number to magma psuedopods.
The creature can also spew forth a concussive blast of superheated rock and ash from its mouth.

We have always known that our world would end in fire, as it has been prophesized countless times. Who would have known, however, that fire and brimstone could take form, and have the gift of life? As humankind plunders our planet, they think little of the consequences. As we continue, the Earth groans under the stress of our endeavors until it suddenly and violently retaliates. Spewed forth from the volcanic fissures along the west coast, the terror seemed like a nightmare for California's panicked citizens. A great monster, a living mountain, bellowed to a warning call the world, creating havoc and fire in its path and attempting to turn our civilization once again to ashes. Attempting to cope with the aberration, many people have begun to theorize as to the creature's background and physiology. Some say that the monster is divine in origin, perhaps being a volcanic God. Scientists disagree, seeing it to be an ancient creature, perhaps the first sign of life in our solar system, from a time when our world was nothing more than a spinning magma ball. The extreme heat generated inside the monster allows its body to behave much like a giant amoeba, who's 'cellular organs' are based on the mineral makeup of the surrounding volcanic materials. This creature could very well be the ancestor the simplest and first life forms: single celled organisms. Regardless of its history, the monster, dubbed Tephrallies after is classic nature, poses an immense threat to our human society if left alone. Several direct attempts to engage the monster have failed. Perhaps there is a better, less violent solution...

Cool design. Like Biollante meets Obsidius... There aren't enough magma kaiju.

I've always wanted to do a massive thingy like Biollante, and well... F$#% Obsidius. They can do better, dammit.

wow awesome its like Bio but with fire. hes the exact opposite really. hmmmmm you know you could probably go a long way by tieing the two together like they are related hmmmm well eh its just an idea

I've always liked the mass and size behind Biollante and have wanted for a long time to create a monster with a similar effect. Teph is kinda my omage to enormous bulky monsters like Bio and Legion. I was originally going to give it arms, but decided to make it more like an amoeba... think Ultimate Chaos from Sonic Adventure.

I agree. Movie kaiju seem better-designed than game kaiju.

i know large sizes and muscles really make anything badass. but size alone can do the job just depends how you present it. like him for example. i mean he has no muscles but you get a overwhelming feeling of power from him from his size and bulkness.
